Technical Software Training
The seasoned consultants of the A&A Consulting Team are expert users of industry-standard software tools and skill-sets required to work on database development, geomodeling/static modeling, reservoir simulation/dynamic modeling, economic assessment, project risk analysis and economic-based project design, and are often called upon to train our clients’ professionals in using these software-tools for working on their challenging oil & gas projects in both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon basins, as well as on CCS/CCUS projects, around the world, that involve using extensively the following industry-standard software tools and skill-sets:
1. Geologic Mapping – Use of the client-provided data as well as publicly available data (e.g., HIS, Enverus, etc.) to generate geologic databases and quality controlled (QC’d) mapping elements (e.g., top sets, structure maps, thickness maps, cross sections, ranking volumetrics, etc.).
- Software Tools used: Schlumberger Petrel, Kingdom, Petra, Decision Space
2 . Petrophysics – Use of the industry-standard techniques and approaches to develop sound petrophysical models representing realistic parameters and associated uncertainty for – reservoir – non-reservoir, net-to-gross (NTG), porosity (PHI), Permeability (PERM), and fluid saturation estimation (So, Sw, Sg).
- Software Tools used: Schlumberger Techlog, Geolog, and Interactive Petrophysics (IP)
3. Geophysics – Seismic interpretation and processing oversight.
- Software Tools used: Schlumberger Petrel, Kingdom, DecisionSpace, and tNavigator
4. Geomodeling/ Static Modeling – Expertise and worldwide experience in all aspects of geomodeling/static modeling – reservoir characterization, stratigraphic analysis, structural geology, seismic interpretation integration, geostatistics, and upscaling.
- Software Tools used: Schlumberger Petrel, RMS, EarthVision, and tNavigator
5. Reservoir Simulation/ Dynamic Modeling – Vast experience in both black oil and compositional reservoir simulation/dynamic modeling. Efficient development of input decks in the software tools listed below. Recent projects include – waterflood, CO2 injection, thermal enhancement, CCS/CCUS/Geologic CO2 Storage. Experts at history-matching and realistic performance predictions.
- Software Tools used: Schlumberger Eclipse/Intersect, PETEX IPM (Prosper, GAP, MBAL), CMG (IMEX, GEM, STARS), tNavigator, OPM Flow, OpenGoSim, Saphir, PVTi, PVTsim, and OFM
6. Economic/ Risk Modeling – Long experience as experts for oil companies on economic/risk modeling – incorporation of static and dynamic models to produce economic models tied to reservoir uncertainty.
- Software Tools used: Excel, @Risk, Crystal Ball, PEEP, DSS, and Rose
7. Economics/ Resource and Reserves Generation – SPE and PRMS qualified. Currently maintaining reserves for U.S. domestic and international clients. Perform expert witness work for litigation purposes related to oil and gas asset valuation.
